Wrought Aluminium
(Extrusion, Rolling, Automotive & Structural Profiles)
In wrought aluminium processing—such as extrusion and rolling—OES is used to verify billet chemistry before processing, confirm composition prior to heat treatment, and perform final quality checks for export and OEM customers. Aluminium processors often deal with multiple alloy families, each with its own chemistry limits and performance expectations.
Customers typically monitor magnesium and silicon for strength and formability, along with copper and zinc in higher-strength alloys. Impurity control is also important, particularly when recycled material or mixed scrap is involved. As customer specifications tighten, sensitivity and repeatability become increasingly important.
What aluminium processors really want is flexibility. They need an instrument that can handle today’s alloy range while remaining ready for future additions, new customers, or export requirements.
For routine wrought aluminium quality control, eMission 2 can be sufficient. As alloy variety increases and chemistry limits become tighter, customers naturally move to Silver Plus. Export-oriented plants, or those planning long-term expansion, benefit most from Gold Plus X or Gold Plus XL, which offers the widest capability and future-proofing.
